Call for Tutorial Proposals

We are soliciting proposals for tutorials to be held at the IFAC World Congress 2026. The tutorial sessions will be assigned on the regular session days (Aug. 24~Aug. 28). A tutorial session will be given 2 hours like other technical sessions. There is no specific registration for tutorial sessions. But, the presenters and the audience need to register for the main congress.

Organizers are invited to prepare and submit proposals with a clear focus on new and emerging topics within the general scope of automatic control. The purpose of the tutorial sessions is to deliver a comprehensive knowledge in a specific topic to congress attendees. The characteristics of the tutorial sessions could be broad from applications of control systems to in-depth theory of automatic control. The presentations will be delivered by experts in academia, laboratories, and industry.

The tutorial proposals should be concise with the limit of 6 pages in PDF format. There is no specific template but the proposal is expected to include the following items:

  • Title of the tutorial
  • Organizers: Please provide the name, affiliation, address, email address for each organizer, and indicate which organizer is the main contact.
  • Outline of the tutorial: topics, objectives and description
  • Description of the intended audience and the expected outcomes
  • Desired prerequisite knowledge of the audience
  • Brief biographies of the confirmed speakers

Additional points:
  • The tutorial proposals should include a statement addressing why the proposed tutorial is important and timely, how it is relevant to the IFAC World Congress and, why the speakers are qualified for a high-quality introduction of the topic.
  • If a related tutorial was given before, describe when and where it was given and how it will be updated for the IFAC World Congress 2026. If possible, provide a link to slides of the previous presentation.
  • The speakers of the tutorial are encouraged to submit survey paper (up to 12 pages) or regular paper (4~6 pages) summarizing their tutorial presentations. If there are any concerns about the tutorial session papers, please contact IPC Co-Chairs Hyo-Sung Ahn & Hyoun Jin Kim  ipc@ifac2026.org
  • Anyone who registered for the conference can attend the tutorial sessions; so there is no profit-sharing with organizers.
